Caryl Churchill is arguably the most respected female dramatist in the English-speaking world. She is the author of some twenty plays including Light Shining in Buckinghamshire, Cloud Nine, Top Girls, Serious Money, The Skriker, Blue Heart, Far Away, A Number, Drunk Enough to Say I Love You and Seven Jewish Children – seen and admired all over the world. Most are published by TCG.

Even for Caryl Churchill, who never seems to do the same thing twice, this is a most unusual play. An indeterminate number of actors –I think you could do the play with five, maybe even four, but you want the parts to keep switching around—talk to each other, mostly in pairs, in a couple of cases threes. The dialogue lasts half a page, a page, two, three pages and then another dialogue starts, on a wholly different topic, sometimes fairly realistic in tone and language (the parts cohere, make sense together), at other times wildly unreal, edging toward surrealism. At one point, an actor tells a story in monologue, “The Child That Didn’t Know Fear.” It’s a page long and its conclusion is jolting. There are spare parts –pantomimes, non-verbal signalings, one-liners--- presented at the back of the play with the playwright’s instruction to throw them in wherever you please during performance. The effect is theatrical but not narrative. There are fragments of narrative in the text but they don’t lead anywhere. One dialogue ends, the next begins, and so on and so forth for seventy some pages. Described this baldly, it sounds dreadful but it’s not –far from it. The effect is to emphasize the act of communication, more than the information being shared. “This is what we do,” Churchill seems to say to the audience. “You decide if it means anything.”

10 typos on every page

I'm not reviewing the content, but this particular Kindle edition has so many typos on every page that it is virtually unreadable. I mean random digits in the middle of words, ^J^^13S kind of garbage characters in the middle of words - I guess it was automatically converted from some other format and never proof-read. This is an important book, so I hope a more worthy Kindle edition (of part 1 and 2) will emerge.

This is an illegal copy!!!! Don't buy it. On top of it, it's more expensive than the legal one-volume edition from Routledge or Princeton University Press.... Buy the legal and cheaper edition!

A Most Entertaining Fascinating Read

If you have any curiosity about show business in the "olden days," there is no better book to read than this one. Sophie Tucker became a phenom - up from humble beginnings - but the real value in reading the book is to gather in the ethical and philosophical messages spread throughout the book, the ones that made her not just an incredible success but a well-liked one as well. Sophie subscribed to the idea of being nice to folks when you were on your way up because you were going to meet them again on your way down. But she was no fake: she was the genuine article and she was sincere as all get out. I was awe struck at how many of the "great ones" she knew and who knew her but even more so at how grounded she was, never forgetting where she came from and totally devoted to her friends and family.

I never saw her in her prime. I wish I had.

Easy and Clear Cooking

Ill be the first to admit i'm not the best cook, but i downloaded this book because i wanted to save some money and eat healthier. I have never been a big breakfast guy, but after cooking with this book for a few days i feel recharged and seem to have more energy. This book is simple and allows you to quickly cook different meals. Would recommend to anyone who wants to try out the Paleo diet, especially those who love breakfast.

Ummm where has this book been all my life?!? I love the recipes and love how I feel on this diet! I have made almost everything that is included in this book and cannot wait to make some of the dishes again! Breakfast has always been my favorite meal and still is thanks to this book!

Great recipes

This cookbook has some great ideas on spicing up your breakfast eggs. Many of the recipes require a handful of ingredients and are pretty simple. I really enjoyed the Autumn pumpkin scones made from almond flour and there are great granola recipes such as a chocolate one! I was surprised at how many recipes I wanted to make from such a small cookbook.

The file format contains much more data than the DWG format, including the new ProMaterials, daylight systems, photometric lighting, and daylight portals.

In this chapter, we will first take a look at what Revit is and why it is known as BIM or Building Information Modeling. Next, we will get into the heart of this chapter, Revit integration with 3ds Max. We will begin by stepping backward by going through the DWG method of working between the two pieces of software. There are still several features of the FBX file format that need further research; therefore, it is worth knowing how the original method works. Next, we will talk about the main point of this chapter: the FBX Method. We will first create a house in Revit and include within it materials and lighting. Then we will bring it into 3ds Max using the FBX file format. At this time, we will step aside and take a look at the files that were created at the moment of import. As a new mom, has been a breath of fresh air for me
