A Must Have!

If you're thinking about writing and publishing your own book, this is THE book to get! Lori spells out al the steps in a clear manner to go from blank page to published book. She even shows you how to do an ebook!
If you do one thing for yourself this year, it has to be buying this book.

Basic how-to Guide for writing and publishing your e-book

I loved this book. Lori Ramsey gets right to the point guiding the reader through the steps from getting an idea to outlining, writing, and then publishing it on Kindle. There is a simple guide to formatting your e-book in Microsoft Word so that it will transfer easily to Kindle formatting, including a link-able table of contents.
I appreciated that she discussed her reasoning for choosing KDP select for publishing her books, and included the background information. She didn't just say, publish on Kindle Select, she explained why it was a good choice and how it could fit into a comprehensive writer's business plan. The best part of this book, for me was her explanation of the benefits of publishing through KDP select and then offering the book for free -- 5 days out of every 90. Oh would have thought that you could make money selling books by giving them away. Oh, yeah, Seth Godin does this. Must be a good strategy. Lori's plan? To publish 18 books on Kindle so that she can offer one every day, for free. Awesome strategy. That tip was worth the cost of the book. Seriously, though, you'll have to get this book to get the detailed plan for becoming a successful writer of e-books and moving up the ranks on Amazon. I've picked up several in this category and this one is among the best available. I'm going to be looking for more by this author.

Okay, but not what I expected

The tagline of the title "A Simple Guide" describes the book. The book doesn't go into any detail about the writing aspects of the "30 Days" from the title. About the first one-third talks about dividing the book into chapters and word lengths. Then the rest of the book is about marketing. All in all, it's an okay book for anyone who doesn't know anything about putting together and marketing an ebook; however, if you are past the beginning stage of doing an ebook, I wouldn't recommend it.
