Action, suspense, death and destruction - what more could you want?

Carol Howey is an emerging writer with a gift for blunt, straightforward writing that rings of authenticity. Her portrayal of a woman suddenly forced into becoming the virtual safety coordinator during an epic instantaneous storm - the microburst storm mentioned in other reviews - is riveting, and the outcomes of the storm are long ranging. This is tragedy writ large, and the protagonist is changed forever. Just when you thought it was safe to go sailing again.

Nail Biting

I felt my heart rate increase as I read Out of a Clear Blue Sky the first time. After I caught my breath, I read it a second time to relax and learn more about sailing. I found that even though I knew the outcome, I remained caught up in the tension, hoping the tragedy that unfolded would not happen. A good read!

A Microburst of a Sailing Story

This fast-paced sailing story pumps your adrenalin as though you were there in the thick of the storm. The technical sailing jargon left this non-sailor baffled at times, but it hardly mattered as the story swept me up, right along with the boats!
