A classic once more available

Even second-hand copies of this classic have long been unavailable, so a huge debt of gratitude is due to "Forgotten Books" for republishing the three volumes (of which this is the third). It may be outdated here and there in content and certainly in style - there have been innumerable works on aspects of the History of the Jews of Russia and Poland since this volume was first published in Engish in 1916 and modern historians know they should let the facts speak for themselves without showing their personal indignation - but to the best of my knowledge no single other work has covered the whole history up to 1911 in such detail. It must be said that 240 of the 411 pages of this volume (covering the reign of Nicholas II up to 1911) are taken up with Dubnow's Bibliography and an index to all three volumes.

Dubnow - History of the Jews in Russia & Poland

Third and final volume of this in-depth and scholarly history of the treatment of the Jews in Russia and Poland up to 1916. Tragic that Dubnow was murdered by the Nazis when they invaded Russia. Russia and Poland have much to be ashamed of for the dreadful way they treated their Jewish populations. Remember that there are three volumes to this history. Need better eyes

Wow the type is really difficult on this book. Looks like I put the type to the book, LOL. I really loved the online books and wish these volume also came as eBook. Content is good however it is just the visual reading the type.
