A Wonderful Experience (once you figure out how it works)

I am writing the second review of this wonderful Kindle book, and the first review was very negative. In my second paragraph, I try to address that reviewer's objections. But first, I need to rave a little. What a wonderful experience it is to get the music of Don Quixote in Spanish while - almost simultaneously and almost effortlessly - understanding the meaning! This dual-language text also allows me to look up words in my Kindle Spanish dictionary, so if I'm interested in a word, or if I question a translation, I'm free to click for a definition. But happily, I am NOT dependent on frequent and often frustrating lookups in order to figure out what the hell is going on. Anyone interested enough to read this far into my review has probably had the experience of trying to slog their way through this, or some other slightly archaic text, where frequent searches in a perfectly good dictionary often come up empty. I should mention that I am an intermediate reader of Spanish - I always get the gist of news stories, sometimes feel like I understand them completely, but almost never understand 100% of the vocabulary. Reading this edition makes me feel like I'm actually reading, not studying for a chemistry exam.
My apologies to the first reviewer if I have misunderstood their complaints, but here is my attempt to answer their frustrations. That review states that "not long into the work" the text becomes very erratic. I have now read the first 12 chapters, but I think that reviewer got frustrated at the end of Chapter 1, because they did not click on the hypertext that says, "Siguiente capítulo." If, instead of clicking on that hypertext, you do a regular page turn, things get very confusing. We all expect, quite reasonably, for a book to be structured like this: Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3, etc. But this Kindle book is structured like this: Chapter 1A (dual- language), Chapter 1B (Spanish only), Chapter 2A, Chapter 2B, etc. This is especially confusing because of the nice feature that allows you to click once on the dual-languge text and make the English disappear, then click again and get the dual-language text back. It seems like the English is appearing and disappearing, but you're actually being transported to a different section of the book. If you highlight or make a note in the dual-language section, it will not show up in the Spanish-only section and vice versa. If there was a warning/explanation about this at the beginning of the text, I did not catch it. Granted that's annoying, but once you figure it out it is easily dealt with, and small price to pay for the ability to switch between the 2 formats.
I have been waiting for years for my Kindle (and my iPad) to provide me this kind of foreign language reading experience. I have no connection to the people at Doppeltext, but I admit that I want you to buy their ebooks - so that they can continue with their wonderful work, and maybe even be able to venture into editions of texts that are still under copyright. (One Hundred Years of Solitude and Captain Alatriste would be at the top of my wish list.)

Erratic and flawed edition

I was initially hopeful that this would be a good bilingual edition of Don Quixote. The spanish in small sentences and paragraphs, was followed by reasonable translations; but not far into the reading, the format became erratic. Not only were there long strings of paragraphs for which there was no translation, but the "page turning" became erratic - i.e. the digital next page was not the real next page; and moreover, sometimes when i turned back again, i found i was somewhere else in the text. Too bad. I was looking forward to this reading. I will look for something better. Any suggestions??
